%%
## Notes
- Lenore asks if Eadyan was the one who did the radiant damage downstairs. It was, and she wants to learn more about how he did that.
- The group heads inside.
- [[Markguth]] has swaddled and blindfolded [[Pepi]] (so she can't see all of the dead, I guess?) Markguth hands Pepi over to [[Marisa]].
- Astrid tells Markguth the cube is gone; they couldn't risk their lives for the object
- Lenore checks on Blais, and Huxley heals him. Lenore gives him his cane.
- We head downstairs past the seared (radiant damage) bodies of kobolds and imps, and a new creature we haven't seen before (a red guard dragon with no wings, but painted black)
- Occasional dead civilians as though struck by a larger creature
- The door where the commoners hid has been broken in. It's quiet from within.
- Absolute post-fight carnage. Mostly kobolds and swobolds dead, a few humanoids.
- Elandor prone, propped against a door. Slashed across the chest, smashed into the brick, his bow snapped in half. He's alive, and was hit probably about a minute ago.
- Eadyan pauses in shock seeing his brother
- Huxley heals Elandor
- Markguth assesses for threats
- Elandor says he was thrown through a wall by a person two feet taller than him, dressed entirely in black armor. Not a dragonborn, not carrying a visible weapon. Wore a helmet, face not visible. ([[Black Knight]])
- [[Lucette]] was here when the fighting was happening
- The civilians barricaded themselves in many different rooms
- We search for commoners, and get everyone together.
- Greenest known NPCs still alive:
- [[Marisa]]
- [[Pepi]]
- [[Elandor Falconmoon]]
- [[Eadyan Falconmoon]]
- [[Blais]]
- [[Eric]]
- [[Markguth]]
- [[Nephina Silverfoot]]
- [[Gruda Blessedblade]]
- [[Tarbaw Nighthill]]
- [[Mavise]]
- [[Isolda]]
- [[Kale]]
- [[Oskar]]
- [[Fritz]]
- [[Tarbaw Nighthill]] looks like he's been injured, but stands tall. Looks furious.
- He addresses the survivors.
- Then he approaches our group.
- I'd like to thank you all for your help, regardless if this was your job or not.
- The attackers are headed south to a camp.
- Stealth will be helpful here.
- Mercenaries on the outskirts.
- Offers us resources if we need it.
- Please set out tomorrow.
- He'd like to send us out further as well, and has connections to a group (from [[Elturel]]) that may offer further help…
- He needs to know where the camp is exactly, what leaders they have, what forces they have, and where they're likely to strike next
- Will pay us each 250 gold pieces.
- Come see him tomorrow morning.
- Leo asks to have a private word with [[Tarbaw Nighthill]] and [[Markguth]].
- Lenore asks Eadyan about the point on the map…
- He looks amused. It's a lovers lane type place under a tree.
- Lenore switches topic, clearly uncomfortable, and asks how Snow attacked him. Stabbed, knocked unconscious.
- Fed a berry, and woken up. He was already blindfolded.
- Snow didn't say anything to him.
- Lenore asks to talk with Leonard separately
- %%With them a year or two… out for about 6 months after.%%
- %%Lenore asks about human trafficking… knows about the Cult members enslaving people, but low ranks so not specifics.%%
- %%He doesn't know about the prophecy. She says no more.%%
- %%She asks about his eyes. He says he's never seen his eyes before.%%
- %%He wants to ask her something… What does she plan to do…%%
- %%She plans to save her friend.%%
- %%She knows the Cult is serious and dangerous… knew this well before now.%%
- They gather to talk
- Lenore shares the drawing of Vartan from Old Mo's shack
- She admits she knews Vartan wasn't there in the infirmary in the morning, she asked him to hide and gave him a disguise kit.
- Vartan, if Lenore faces Odonth… she should run.
- Astrid asks why Odonth would be interested in her… Lenore responds "but why would he be interested in you? No reason. Just… violence…"
- Astrid takes out the parchment scroll, and tosses it into the centre. Huxley takes it.
- Astrid says she received a message, and wants to know what it is.
- "Do not trust the messages right now, verify in person. Meet at Elturel."
- But why did you leave…? Astrid to Lenore.
- Lenore says she saw Hayla look up towards the group and thought she was looking for Shava. Thought it was a good idea to hide.
- Lenore asks about Shava's friend…
- Doesn't know why she was chasing her friend, Surina.
- How did you get away?
- Lenore said she was very persuasive… able to talk her out of taking them.
- Admits that Snow was there to take both Shava, and to take Lenore as well.
- Huxley says Snow was *very* interested in Lenore… and Lenore shows them the flower and the map with the location to lovers lane.
- Lenore says she offered to trade herself for Eadyan because she felt Snow wouldn't hurt her.
- Leonard asks if they still plan to fight, or would rather run
- Astrid will fight, but needs to figure out what is up with her Order
- Lenore will save her friend, but she has more research (about the Cult) to do after.
- Huxley's kinda vibing… and is just here…
- They talk about Old Mo and prophetic visions… and the drawing of the party.
- The parchment looked decades old.
- Lenore states that the shack… wasn't fully real. It was staged.
- Leonard says their group isn't working as it is right now.
- We need to come into agreement of how we work as a group.
- We all have our secrets.
- He suggests Astrid as a leader.
- Lenore questions that… why they need a leader…
- Astrid tosses her necklace to Lenore.
- One side has the symbol of [[60 Games/62 Campaigns/2022-09 Hoard of the Dragon Queen/05 NPCs/Bahamut|Bahamut]], the other side has the symbol of [[60 Games/62 Campaigns/2022-09 Hoard of the Dragon Queen/05 NPCs/Tiamat|Tiamat]].
- Lenore is familiar with the symbol of Tiamat (Rolled nat20 + 2 History + 2 Guidance)
- This might be connected to the tale of [[Marroshok]] (one of the golden wyrms of Bahamut), a bodyguard of Bahamut
- The order is The [[Order of the Golden Tail]]; not a secret order, but not especially outgoing.
- Lenore tosses her own necklace over to Astrid
- Electrum, painted Bahamut
- Admits her friends were killed by the Cult, [[Patrin]] and [[Vyara]]
- She shows the sketch of the temple
- The [[Order of the Golden Tail]] is headquartered in Neverwinter.
- She has been with the Order for three years
- Kassandra was killed four years ago. She was a seer, and possibly the reason Patrin and Vyara were killed.
- Lenore casts detect magic
- Leonard %%on his right arm an aura that kinda looks like a bracelet%%
- Astrid %%Shield, the Journal that is resting on her lap while she started to talk to group and the Capsule to her hip, you sense something else on her hip hidden in a pouch (the cube)%%
- Shava %%magical bagpipes%%
- Huxley = bone saw, bottled soul
- Astrid reveals that she has the cube
- Leonard and Lenore both worry that the Cult will be back to retaliate as a result of this
- Leonard was born with the canine teeth… and can bite people in order to save others.
- Leonard ask Nephina to make them clothes to blend in for the morning.
Cult Signs and Signals
The Cult of the Dragon uses several signs and countersigns among its members, the most common being holding the hand out with all five fingers extended, which they call the "Tiamat salute.” In addition, the phrases "All hail Tiamat!” and "They shall rise!” are frequently used pass phrases.
(Some cultists extend their right hand with fingers outstretched to represent the five heads of Tiamat when they praise her glory. Others curl back two fingers, to show that Tiamat's strength is hidden. This is not mandatory, but adepts and hard-core cultists look favorably on those who do it sincerely.)
