## Notes
- Lenore tells them the Cult has a divination wizard
- They don't have anything that could protect them… and it's expensive too.
- They get a long rest, sleeping in their own rooms for the night.
- In the morning, they collect their goods and clothes
- Huxley offers to cast Sending to Vartan
- Hey Vartan, it's Lenore's friend. Are you doing okay? Are you in danger? Where are you? She's wondering. We would like to know…
- The spell went through, but you get no answer. Vartan is alive, at least.
- We get ready to go.
- We hear a man's voice, "Hey, wait up." A younger man, a more recent traveler. A bit injured, with a limp and bandaged left leg.
- Lenore stops with Astrid and Huxley. "Do we know you?" Human, green eyes, messy brown hair. Introduces himself as [[Nesim Waladra]]. Nesim is wearing monk-like commoner clothes.
- My old master, [[Leosin Erlanthar]], was taken, as was one of his disciples. Only has a broken staff and choker. The other disciple has headed to [[Berdusk]].
- Lenore puts her hand on his shoulder, and quietly heals him without him knowing it.
- Lenore has never heard of Leosin but she does know of Berdusk.
- Astrid discusses how they should do it…
- Leonard is rude
- Lenore casts Blessing of the Trickster on Astrid without her knowing it.
- They get into disguises
- Lenore disguises herself to look like [[Nesim Waladra]], as a young man
- Shava has a disguise kit to make herself look more like a gnome
- Shava tries to disguise Astrid and Leonard
- We walk for the first hour (3 miles)
- We walk for the second hour (6 miles)
- Spot smoke in the distance
- Astrid catches the smell of someone cooking chicken in a low spot between the surrounding hills
- Huxley sends [[Fantoccio]] to go do recon
- Five humanoid mercenaries, each with chainmail (similar uniforms)
- One is a kobold…
- Each wears red cloth in some way… and a sun branded on the chest.
- Astrid has heard of them… a moderately known mercenary group. Known as the [[Red Sun Mercenaries]]. They are undisciplined.
- We decide to go around and stealth.
- Lenore casts Pass Without a Trace… and it helps!
- We walk for another hour… and the last hour gets interesting.
- We find a large camp with a plateau around it
- Four kobolds in a guard tower, red… painted black
- Three groups of mercenaries
- More [[Red Sun Mercenaries]], not all have chain mail
- Other groups have uniformed chainmail and blue capes, with symbols of a sword (with a lightning bolt jagged edge. The blade faces upwards.) Astrid recognizes them as a soldier/military group, like mercenaries but more disciplined. [[Stormblades]]. Known for being ruthless. Very loyal, known for being very efficient.
- We see black-clad figures, like sailors. Much more piratey. (the [[Dark Sail Pirates]]) Known for causing terror and murder…
- There are also regular cultists.
- Leo suggests they pretend they are a part of his old section of the Cult, were just dealing with stragglers
- They walk in with confidence.
- We are intercepted by five blackmarches, heading straight towards us
- The lead reaches up and takes his helmet off.
- Her eyes are golden, red hair, dark brown skin. Humanoid.
- Leonard tells his story…
- She looks past and assesses the rest of us…
- Leosin is tied to a stake in the southeast, facing the wall.
- They set up camp between the Cultists and Kobolds
- Shava makes a tent via magic. Astrid and Huxley help.
- Leonard goes over and talks with the cultists
- Leonard recognizes a cultist he knows… [[Ole Jack]]
- [[Ole Jack]] seems afraid of [[Odonth Darkwrath]], knowing his the champion of [[Rezmir]]
- [[Frulam Mondath]] is mentioned. She's there in the camp.
- [[Ole Jack]] and [[Leonard Draushum]] reconnect.
- [[Ole Jack]] was chatting with [[Buck]]. He sends Buck off to get them food.
- They're having a meeting in the main tent, and had picked up another large dragonborn ([[Langdedrosa Cyanwrath]]…
- [[Rezmir]] herself is here.
- [[Odonth Darkwrath]] is there.
- [[Frulam Mondath]] is there, and can control an adult dragon now. She wears a purple robe.
- Lenore picks up a rock and goes towards [[Leosin Erlanthar]]
- Pirate with hook, eye patch, parrot, flintlock pistol, rapier
- He goes by the name [[60 Games/62 Campaigns/2022-09 Hoard of the Dragon Queen/05 NPCs/Captain]]
- She introduces herself as Lenny
- Asks who Leosin is
- Going to be executed in a couple days by order of the boss lady
- Lenore picks up some rocks close to him
- She tosses on from in front of him to get his attention
- Leosin looks pretty hardy
- Injured, but still strong
- He looks surprised, then confused, and then suspicious
- Captain walks away
- Lenore goes within visible range of Leosin again
- Offers to help him if she can, he says he's fine and can take care of himself
- She tells him she's looking for someone but doesn't know what he looks like right now; the prisoners are kept by the Cultists, kept in chains in the tent, working 12-hour shifts
- She tells him he's now seen a familiar face (she's disguised as Nesim) and is not alone before walking away.
- Out of the black tent, someone ([[Azbara Jos]]) walks out… and walks into the red tent.
- Astrid and Lenore would have seen this, (Lenore just going into the tent…)
- [[Ole Jack]] suggests the red tent are [[Red Wizards of Thay]]… involved in necromancy
- [[Rezmir]] is staying in the black tent
- Other travelers of the white wyrm speakers are in the white tent… but a [[Hayla|strange lady]] is staying there instead
- [[Rezmir]] is on the path to finding something important… a tool or weapon, something that would help their god ([[60 Games/62 Campaigns/2022-09 Hoard of the Dragon Queen/05 NPCs/Tiamat|Tiamat]])…
- Even if the heroes of legend were here… what?
- Lenore casts detect magic and goes for a walk before going back to the group
- She circles around the red tent groups, but does not get close into the big red tent
- She walks on towards the [[Stormblades]] tents, then moves on towards the white tent
- As she passes the white tent, she senses a magic item near the door of the tent
- She hears Snow's voice from the edge of the white tent… followed by Hayla's.
- Snow: "I don't really know how I feel about I've never really had soemthing liek this happen before"
- Lenore bends down to tie her boot to hear more.
- Hayla: "Oh, well. It's not often you react like this I'd say. but I'm sure if fate has something in store for you, the object of your interest will appear very soon."
- …Lenore is standing right outside. It really seems like they're talking about her.
- Snow: "You really think so? I guess. I mean, gods exists, so maybe fate does… I've kind of gone with luck…"
- Lenore ties her other boot to try and keep listening.
- Asked to roll a deception check as I keep listening. There are guards outside of the black tent eyeing her.
- Snow: "Alright, well thanks big sister. I'll be on my way."
- Blackhand approaches towards Lenore, questioning who she is and why she's loitering.
- Behind her, she hears the tent flap open up.
- Lenore, in the moment, drops the face of [[Nesim Waladra]] and resumes her own. She pulls out the flower her bag and turns to face Snow.
- Snow did not see her fake face.
- Snow comes out of the tent and looks surprised and awkward to see her. Lenore tells her she had snuck into the tent because she wanted to talk with her. The guard imposes on her, and she turns and tells him she's trying to have a private conversation.
- Lenore makes a point of saying she had left the others at The Keep and had come to the camp alone to talk with Snow.
- Hayla steps out of the tent and the guard backs aware. "Oh, just in time. Why don't you come inside the tent?"
- Lenore keeps a straight face, but Hayla is deathly still and stares into her. Lenore says she wants to talk with Snow in private if she can… Hayla is fine with this because she's already seen that Lenore will be back in the tent.
- Snow leads Lenore behind the tents away from eyes so they can talk.
- Lenore wants to apologize for the previous day, and wants to talk things through. She was afraid, she doesn't like weapons, and she had just watched Snow stab [[Shava|her friend]] out of no where. She used mind control in self defence so that they would talk.
- Snow says that "mind control is how you show that you care" according to her sister, Hayla.
- Snow says that Hayla expected Lenore would be here.
- Snow got in a lot of trouble for bringing home the empty box. Lenore suggests that Astrid probably didn't know it was empty, and Snow seems to agree.
- Lenore continues to ask Snow what her sister has said about the party, or about her. She doesn't talk much about people, other than to say that she'd see Lenore soon.
- Snow suggest they should go talk with Hayla. She always knows what to do. She's a divination wizard.
- Lenore convinces Snow they should go for a walk together instead and talk. Should leave the camp.
- She hesitates… "Will they let me leave?" Snow says it shouldn't be a problem as long as she's with her.
- Snow appears very nervous and anxious, says she's not good at relationships or friendships. Pulls out a piece of paper with questions, and starts reading them off. "What are your hobbies?"
- Snow and Lenore head out of the camp together for a walk.
- Lenore will do anything to avoid going into the tent with Hayla. She is afraid, and trying not to show it.
- The party spots them, but Lenore doesn't look back towards them, not wanting to give away their presence. She's doing what she can to keep them safe and their presence unknown.
