His feet don't seem to touch the floor… - He mutters a few words and the fires go out. - He turns and talks to Astrid, Ryk, and Cole. Basically, there have been a lot of problems arounds lately. - Astrid stops him to ask questions about the fire. It's not a spell, but a magical effect. A consumable magical item, like an alchemical item… - Back to [[A Pair of Black Antlers]] - Kassandra apologizes to everyone for having deceived them, but was doing it to protect herself - Asks Leosin about Vartan and Ferias. Both blame each other for it. - Leosin says he will keep her secret. - She switches back into her Lenore face, and asks Huxley and Langdedrosa if she should trust Ryk with this secret. She doesn't have a good sense about her yet, and is worried about cult members hiding in plain sight. - Langdedrosa says to wait until after a large battle… you can judge a person's character after fighting with them. - Astrid, Ryk, and Cole walk in and Huxley instantly runs up and starts casting cure wounds. - Gomash instantly goes and grabs Ryk by the waist, saying he has important warlock questions for her. - Treya goes with them. - Astrid introduces Cole as her friend from her order. - Huxley offers him a pair of pants since his are basically shredded from the fire. - Lenore suggests Huxley lets Cole use his room for the time being to freshen up while they talk with Astrid. - She introduces herelf as Kassandra, taking off the circlet in front of Astrid. - Langdedrosa looks incredibly uncomfortable - She tells her backstory from four years ago until now. - Astrid is pretty upset by all of this, because Astrid feels betrayed. - Astrid's order is in shambles. There are assassins after her order. - Kassandra wonders if she can trust Cole. - Cole says he can't reach the others. - Kassandra reveals the prophecy. - Astrid goes on to tell her own visions of a skeletal creature. And an image of a creature with many eyes… - Kassandra asks if it was 10 eyes. She doesn't know. - "He comes." - Kassandra admits she's been dreaming about "10 eyes" since she was 10 years old. - Huxley tries to think about what he knows about necromancy and dragons. - He thinks back to side comments about certain rare creatures to raise as undead, but she doesn't know the secret to creating dracoliches. - He recalls her talking about a very famous dracolich she'd want to learn information from at some point. ([[Daurgothoth]], the Creeping Doom) - She had a couple theories… one was a form of phylatory (an outside caster, or some form of sacrifice) - Astrid has heard of dracoliches through her order. Vartan had told Kassandra about them, since the cult has a few. - Kassandra asks Langdedrosa what information he has related to any of this… - He more tracks the cult members rather than the cult. - They hire mercenaries (like Odonth), and entreat the aid of dragons. - Kassandra asks Astrid if she thinks she can trust Ryk. - Astrid says Cole had heard about Kassandra. That someone from her group was familiar with the temple. - Kassandra says she's never heard of Astrid's order ([[Order of the Golden Tail]]) before. - Kassandra says [[Patrin]] had bought her when she was young, offered her a choice of where to live - Astrid wants to go question Cole right now, but Kassandra suggests they wait until the others are back. - Huxley sends a message to Gomash, and Gomash turns back around to the inn and says he's coming back. - Huxley gives Astrid a goblet of blood which tastes like wine, and heals her 18 HP. - He then walks back into his room where Cole is, and cuts himself to re-bleed into the cup. - Langdedrosa stands outside Astrid's door - Kassandra can tells he's upset by the lies, even if he understands why one would do so. - Huxley can tell the same. - Kassandra apologizes to him, and he says he'll come around in a couple days… she heads down to the bar as Lenore. - Astrid and Langedrosa talk about the Kassandra reveal on their way down. - Astrid is upset because she doesn't like lies. - Langdedrosa says he's not meaning to be cruel or dismissive, but doesn't understand how someone wouldn't confront things straight on. Says he doesn't feel hurt so much as he feels pity for someone to act that way out of fear. - They sit at the bar, in a secluded booth in the corner. - Ryk offers Huxley the vial for him to investigate. (He'll need to go shopping for a couple of items first before he can identify it.) - They have a conversation with Cole - Huxley casts [[Detect Thoughts]] - Astrid says she was still getting some messages after things went south for her order a couple weeks back. - He has been receiving all of her messages. - She says she received one message that didn't have handwriting she didn't recognize… he doesn't recognize the handwriting either. - Huxley detects that he's thinking "oh fuck, we've been set up!" - He suspects someone intercepted his message to Astrid for where to meet up. - The item should only be used by someone in the order, so maybe… mind control? A mole? - Astrid has Huxley send a message to her captain ([[Rysera]])
