## Notes
- Ryk starts by looking for pictures of the family, but there are none. No additional context from an insight check; [[Thomas]] just seems awkward.
- Astrid questions him. Why doesn't he seem happy to see her? It seems disjointed from the fact they keep her room intact and clean. (He says he's overwhelmed.)
- Wife should return later tonight.
- [[Luise Starhold]] works on the farm (occupation).
- Astrid lectures Thomas.
- They decide to go see the cows while Thomas goes back to talk with Kassandra. ("Roll for milking!")
- The animals are well taken care of.
- Gomash names a cow Etta.
- Astrid convinces [[Ferias]] to come outside, to give [[Kassandra]] and [[Thomas]] some space.
- He doesn't go over to the cows, but instead is 100 feet back and writing in a black book.
- Kassandra dries her eyes in her bedroom, and reapplies the mask of many faces
- Thomas is facing away from her. His body language seems off.
- I rolled a 30 for insight.
- Kassandra realizes he has been acting weird since they arrived.
- She realizes he doesn't match her memories.
- He doesn't seem pleased she's here, but pleased she's safe.
- She coughs to get his attention.
- "I'm glad to see you well again."
- He walks closer towards her.
- Should leave before dinner. There are friends of your mom she shouldn't meet.
- They are new friends. Just came into town, and hit it off.
- Her siblings don't know about her mom's new friends.
- She waits a moment, and gives him a hug.
- She puts up her hood before she leaves the house, and doesn't look back.
- "We have to go. Now."
- First to Ferias, then to the rest of the party.
- Kassandra dips into a wheat field and puts on her circlet, and then reapplies her Mask of Many Faces to look different than Lenore.
- We go into the barn, and Ferias starts putting together a teleportation circle.
- A woman walks by the barn with pale white hair
- She has a red scarf and white hat.
- We manage to teleport away to outside of [[Baldur's Gate]].
- Wood cabin in the woods.
- She reveals she's actually Kassandra to Ryk.
- They talk about her captivity.
- We are 3 hours away from Baldur's Gate south, with the road to the east.
- Kassandra takes a moment to collect herself, but sends a message to Snow.
- "Do you know anything about Triel? Do you have family in the area at the moment?"
- Doesn't know much about Triel. Her sister, [[Icelyn]], has been there lately.
- Ferias mentions we need to talk to [[Ackyn Selebon]] about any caravans that have come in and out of Baldur's Gate. They are at [[Black Gate]].
- (retcon; [[Ontharr Frume]] was supposed to tell us about them…)
- We approach Baldur's Gate via [[Rivington]] (which is the opposite side of the city from [[Black Gate]])
- Huxley unsummons his familiar before getting to the city, since he would. be a problem.
- We enter into the Lower City through Basilisk Gate
- Kassandra keeps her eyes peeled for any signs of the cult as they walk, while Astrid watches for anyone watching them.
- She only spots normal shady people, not Cult shady people
- The buildings get nicer as we walk north, and the fog dissipates
- There are a lot of cats in the city.
- We finally make it through the Black Dragon Gate to the [[Blackgate]]
- We meet up with [[Ackyn Selebon]] in [[Blackgate]] at his shop, [[Ackinsaw]] (he was formally a carpenter).
- Asks him to keep his eyes peeled for a caravan from Elturel
- Leah mistakening thinks it's been confirmed that Odonth will be a part of it. It's unconfirmed. My bad!
- We get basically nothing out of Ackyn, and instead Kassandra sends a message to [[Langdedrosa Cyanwrath]] to find out where he is. He's at the [[Shrine of the Suffering]] so we head there.
- At the [[Shrine of the Suffering]]
- Has a symbol, white hands bound with red cord, which is a church for [[Ilmater]]
- Lang isn't in his heavy armour, but is in a black tunic and long pants.
- Kassandra gives Langdedrosa a hug, while Lang smiles at. (And then Gomash does, too.)
- We go further in for a safer small room to talk.
- Fill him in about the temple to [[60 Games/62 Campaigns/2022-09 Hoard of the Dragon Queen/05 NPCs/Bahamut|Bahamut]] near [[Elturel]].
- [[Odonth Darkwrath]] has mentioned it in the past. He has been interested in dragons.
- The mountain was a burial ground for dragons.
- Think of it like factions:
- One group set up a shrine to dragons or to Bahamut
- One group burned it. (Fae not known for fire.)
- Kassandra filled him in about her parents and [[Icelyn]]
- Lang had got into a disagreement with the Flaming Fist, but otherwise has been around the Shrine of the Suffering.
- Gomash blurts out that his father was a rebel in Baldur's Gate.
- Kassandra wants to meet [[Yimmon Tsari]]
- Langdedrosa suggests Evan and Tiana wouldn't be safe if Kassandra does or doesn't meet them, so suggests giving them a warning.
- [[Treya Oakhallow]] disappeared once they arrived
- Huxley wants to find both [[60 Games/62 Campaigns/2022-09 Hoard of the Dragon Queen/05 NPCs/Freya|Freya]] and [[Treya Oakhallow]].
- Huxley messages [[Treya Oakhallow]]; they are at the [[Elfsong Tavern]].
- Ryk suggests we have non-verbal signs if something is wrong.
- They get out a piece of paper and coal to write out the signs. They are written symbols.
- We also decide to tug our left ear it something is wrong.
