## Notes
- [[Langdedrosa Cyanwrath]] makes it over to the tavern in the night
- We tell him what happened; he seems more worried about us than about chasing down his brother
- [[Treya Oakhallow]] bunks with Astrid
- [[Langdedrosa Cyanwrath]] bunks with Kassandra
- Ryk bunks with Enzo
- Gomash already went back to sleep
- Gomash will sleep in as jethoof is away for the session
- In the morning, we head downstairs
- Langdedrosa is reading a book called "Dragon Slayer" and also does some exercises in the morning
- Kass does her standard morning routine of light strength training and quiet meditation
- [[Grey]] is downstairs and drinking alcoholic milk
- We are looking to investigate the death of [[Thalamra Vanthampur]] and want to get into the Upper City.
- Her death was odd, would be worth investigating.
- Knowledge about the family is very sparse; no particular legacy. New money, started from nothing.
- The family was a part of renovating [[Baldur's Gate]] sewer system.
- She had multiple husbands who all died in different ways.
- She was found murdered in the sewers in the Upper City, multiple wounds (spells, swords, spears), multiple assailants. No witnesses. Corpse found weeks after their death.
- Found by herself. Dangerous to be alone.
- The sewers aren't guarded by public or private guards, but is hazardous.
- Creatures and nare-do-wells… maybe also a vampire or necromancer.
- Thalamra was caustic and her insults were very close to truths that people may not want to know.
- Was feared, but not popular.
- All three of her sons claimed that she was attempting to overthrow the current Grand Duke.
- They still live in the manor.
- We could possibly use this as an opportunity to help clear their names; they were the first to be investigated.
- Sons are
- [[Thurstwell Vanthampur]] » the eldest, not much is known of him. Has not been seen outside the manor. (late 30s)
- Has not been seen; no idea what he looks like
- [[Mortlock Vanthampur]] » the muscle, has visible scarring on his face
- [[Amrik Vanthampur]] » the middle child; was the heir, now the head of the household (early 20s)
- The only one of the family who leaves the manor most often
- Business: [[Low Lantern|The Low Lantern]]
- He's a loanshark.
- It's a ship that was turned into a tavern and gambling hall.
- What does [[Grey]] know about the [[Hellvipers]]?
- They do stick to their word.
- They keep to the "hell" thing a little too much. Like their contracts.
- Don't say anything you don't mean.
- It's likely the Vanthampurs have worked with the [[Hellvipers]].
- They went from poor to generational wealth in a single generation.
- They usually sear/brand the person they assassinate.
- No signs of burn marks known on the body, but only the family has seen the body.
- If we can check the body…
- Maybe killed by adventurers?
- We head out to the [[Stonyeyes]] and we are approached by a small boy, and follow him to a small shed
- It's a place to be vetted by the [[Hellvipers]]
- There's a lone figure in there ([[Dust]])
- Kassandra does enter, but wants to hear what they have to say… but is hesitant about the whole experience.
- The door is close, the building is soundproofed.
- Enzo says he hasn't seen him around; Dust is new. Recently promoted.
- This meeting was more a courtesy call, not direct business. Dust would be our liasion with the [[Hellvipers]].
- [[Dust]] has access to [[Sending]].
- Access to location.
- They have information for all areas of the [[Sword Coast]].
- Access to fast travel, or travel.
- Different ways to access the Upper City. Different ways had different costs.
- Legitimate, through the gates. People would take note of us.
- Secretive, past the guards during night patrols.
- Secretive, through the sewer system.
- Kassandra can tell that [[Langdedrosa Cyanwrath]] doesn't like this person.
- Costs
- 1000 gp for equal worth (i.e. information on the [[Cult of the Dragon]] activities)
- 100 gp (group rate) for above through the gates
- 50 gp (group rate) for through the sewers
- Person is just a guide; we handle the monsters
- Plan for next week
- Conclude conversation with [[Dust]]
- Thanks for the information, we'll be in touch
- Go to the [[Low Lantern]] to see what [[Amrik Vanthampur]] is all about
- Fact finding
- Find the merchants ([[Jamna Gleamsilver]], [[Seraphine Blackslide]], [[Jeram]])
- See about getting on a caravan crew?
