You used them now to not die on the train tracks, so that's nice. - Leopold's drops - Lily's vision - Cover Circle admin ## Notes - Lily: Vision? - Lily did get a vision from the [[Dagger of Sorrow]]! - A sense of glee from the dagger… it's used to only being able to hurt it's victims physically… yet Lily is the next victim, but took ownership of the dagger… it's not sentient, but there's a drive within it… - Lily imagines a narrow stone bridge across a large chasm - Imagines having stepped onto the bridge, holding the dagger, and walking forward like a physical compulsion… and the dagger wants her to stab herself… - Starting off… - Celine thinks we should prepare - Leopold thinks we should prepare - Lily is digesting the idea of lead to gold and everything [[Seraphine Noir]] just said… - Edward wonders if it should be turned into an archeological dig, and how much magick is going to be present - Sadie is not thinking practically but is excited for the possibilities of discovery - Sadie sketches a version of the map in her notebook - Celine has been watching to see if they've been tailed - They can tell we've been followed and they are shady characters - (It's not [[Thomas Cavendish]]. So that's… good?) - Celine has had Edward take different turns to try and lose them, and thinks they did. - Celine, looking outside of the warehouse, sees them again… and knows we are still being tailed. - Suspects the hideout may be compromised - Edward didn't bring the box - Edward, Leopold, and Celine talk about killing [[Seraphine Noir]]… and I rolled a 6 so Sadie understands what they're talking about (and is very deeply concerned) - Celine doesn't want to hurt civillians - Leopold readjusts the map pins and gaslights [[Seraphine Noir]] and she believes it's true… - Leopold suggests we split up to divert attention - Edward and Leopold to go out the front door and scrub the hideout - Does Leopold want to use the drops…? and does so in the car. (Muhahahahahahaha. [[Andrew Pontious|apontious]] "bullied" him into using them in the car, and this is nothing short of amazing.) - The liquid is clear… but as it hits the eye, it turns opalescent. He yells when it hits his eye. - Different liquids come from his eyes… the pupils and colour changes colour in his eyes… - The vision takes over… it's a memory. It's disorientating, as it's something from another's mind taking over. - "Leopold" is sitting in a chair in the scarlet auction at the [[Obelisk House]] - (Neither Sadie or Thomas are visible; they are sitting behind the person who had this memory) - Has a copied book of research from [[Candela Obscura (Organization)|Candela Obscura]] - The page is open to a poem of some kind… Leopold can tell she knows this poem by heart. When she glances down at it, the poem springs to Leopold's mind… and the feelings are mixed. - The poem is called [[The Prophecy of Birds]] - Images - Imagines a cavern full of statues of birds; knows that it is dangerous - Anthromorphized bird: Bird head, human form. Knows the poem was written by someone who stayed in the [[Cavern of Frozen Wings]] too long and died of bleed. The statue has been saying the prophecy for over a thousand years… - [[Madam Fidovich]] came in quickly and left, knowing to not die of bleed. - In this case… the head of the bird turned towards [[Madam Fidovich]]. It was the final signal to go forward with this crazy plan… - She looks up… the [[Box of Suffering]] is the next item up for bid, and the auction continues… - Black tears come from his eyes and he wipes them away. - Once he's out of it, Leopold tries to help by emptying his revolver into the windshield of the other car to try and lose them… - Mike gets a 6. Phew. - Leopold was aiming at the windshield… not necessarily to kill them, but to thwart them from following. Leopold hits a tire, and the car careens and hits a lamp post. - One of the people gets out of the car and has a tommy gun… but Leopold and Edward manage to get away before getting shot. - Leopold gets a good look at the guy… but the guy gets a good look at him too. - Leopold knows he's someone from the [[Red Hand]] - Celine asks if either Sadie or Lily has any reason why they'd be followed - Lily thinks someone may be following given the [[Dagger of Sorrow]] - Sadie suggests perhaps her husband, who has very particular interests, may be jealous… - A conversation that suggests Sadie is in a very unsafe and precarious relationship, to the point where Celine asks if Sadie feels safe at home. Sadie says yes, but Celine, rightfully, doesn't believe her - Celine gives Sadie a business card with a glove and Valterra on one side, and 753 on the other - Sadie does say that at this point, she does feel safer with Thomas than without. - Celine had seen Sadie and Thomas together at the [[Obelisk House]] - Celine, Sadie, and Lily successfully escape through the sewers - Celine suggests taking very public transportation, and stay together at this point, going back to Celine's place in [[Briar Green]] - Celine does ask if Sadie should go home, but Sadie knows that Thomas would never let her leave if he was having her followed at this point - We get a change of clothing… and Celine has a wide arrange of clothing of different sizes and genders - Sadie will grab a cap to tuck her hair under, as a method of hiding her red hair - When Leopold and Edward get to his safe house in the [[Varnish]]… it has been trashed, and the [[Box of Suffering]] is gone. - Edward is, naturally, upset - Realizes that if the [[Red Hand]] has it… they're going to be right on top of them for this. - His closet is full of dig equipment… shovels, rope, etc… he's working fast to just grab things and go go go… - He spends time to empty the items he has there. - The place is now "burned" as a safe house. - Leopold investigates the safe house for clues if anything was left behind… but alas, doesn't find anything. - They go to a second safe house in the [[Sidle]] to unload the stuff… and get more gear. - We all go to meet back up at [[Brewed Enlightening]]. (We do circle stuff » stitch, refresh, train…) - We look at Sadie's drawing of the [[Steel]] - There is a subway stop within the circle, so maybe that's an access point » we decide to go here! - There's a possible construction site also within the circle - We figure out how to get there with Edward's gear… and yup, we look very suspicious. - In the subway, on the platform - Sadie tries sensing the next direction, while others survey the area. - Survey rolls: - There is a crack in the wall in the middle tunnel that looks like a person may be able to pass through - In the tunnel to the north, there's a door that looks busted (no knob) - There's a worker in one of the tunnels who is taking a cigarette break (south) - Sadie (mixed success) is walking around while looking, trying to get a sense of things - As the subway trains come through, they're noisy… the more trains, the worse everything starts to feel for Sadie. Sensory overload. Sensations, but not the usual sense of direction. - Someone bumps into me on the platform, and Sadie falls. When she sees the tunnel, and gets the worst bleed pain she's ever had. It basically consumes her full focus. - Edward comes to help her up, and she has a flash from touching Edward: - Two quick movements: a small boy falling into a deep dark pit… cuts back to a house. There are bodies out in front (a mother and father). They've been shot. There's a high pitched scream in her mind. - She goes non-verbal from the overwhelm, but points at the crack in the wall - The scream is still echoing in her mind - There are two periphery officers looking at them, and a woman is talking and pointing at them. It's time to go. - They make it across, though Lily falls. Leopold pulls her along, though she takes a body mark. - We lose half our equipment… but the DM will let us know what we don't have. - We work our way through this crack. It's narrow and winding. - …we have one lantern. The other broke. - It opens into a wider area… lots of rubble. Above us, there's a partial dome of lead.
