# Session S02 > [!overview] > [campaign:: [[Daggerheart - Escape from Castle Heterodyne|Escape from Castle Heterodyne]]] > [session:: S02] > [prev:: [[2024-04-14_S01]]] > [session date:: 2024-04-21] > [campaign date:: ] > [my pc:: ] > [dm:: [[Andrew Pontious|apontious]]] > [player:: [[demonem|Emma]], [[Nicole van der Hoeven|Nicole]], [[zyzyr|Zee]]] > [pcs:: ] > [active npc:: ] > [discussed npc:: ] > [active locations:: ] > [discussed locations:: ] > > --- > > (tldr:: Summary.) ## Notes - Everyone is wearing unfitted orange prisoner uniforms, except for whatever reason, Imelda has turned hers into a very cute tailored dress - The way we want to try to escape: - The Corridor of Smoke - The Reminder Stairs - The Torture Room - Dials, Dials, Dials room - Gate of Lamps - The Corridor of Smoke - About 100 ft long, 20 ft - Cheerful teal blue coloured walls - Windows let in light, but aren't a good way out - The Castle wants the room patched up - Three piles of things on the right side (GM comes up with) - Bricks - Paint - Eggshell blue » the wall colour - Red » obvious traps - Arrows - Spikes from the floor - Spikes from the ceiling - White » the path through the corridor - Need to follow, otherwise the fog merchants show up and will attack anyone present - A ladder - Three piles of things on the left side (we come up with) - Plastering materials - A nail gun - A vacuum cleaner » good at cleaning rugs… but it's also sentient - Round 1 - Kameka steps off the path to start repairing a part of the wall, but the fog starts rolling in and stays at bay while they work - Levana sings a working song (feature: a rally, d6 rally die and add the roll to a roll… until the end of a session) and Levana just continues on down the path to the next area… disappears into the fog. - Shayd just walks on the white line to keep going to reach the bricks, pulling out the damaged bricks to replace with good bricks - Imelda imagines a hopscotch game on the floor, and skips across while carrying bricks for Shayd - Round 2… and sorta 3 - Imelda senses the vacuum cleaner, and skips off down the white path in search of a new friend. - Spent rally die to not die! - Umbrella could be a shield or a weapon - Kameka decides to just fly, because he can, to clear the air » meets it, 13 with fear - The fog gets pushed back from Kameka » [[zyzyr|Zee]] had to go… - Imelda approaches the vacuum cleaner, and she's so focused on the name tag "Sucky" that she walks off the path - The fog monsters attack Imelda - Shayd comes running along the white line with two bricks, but then hits with her blades - Levana decides to just paint the floor below us to denote that *was* the path, and the fog monsters should leave us alone - Imelda makes her way over to Sucky - It's loud and needs to be turned on to talk (so would be bad for sneaking) - Imelda bonds with it, and decides to take Sucky with them - Paints over its name tag, and asks what they'd prefer to be called Zephyr, and paints it in eggshell - Levana takes the nail gun and nine nails - Shayd grabs the ladder which now counts as a two-handed weapon - The Reminder Stairs - Levana uses inspirational words to heal both Shayd and Imelda - Imelda introduces the others to Zephyr - Shayd will lay the ladder on the stairs to help drag Zephyr up the stairs - Shayd attempts to jump from the floor to "turn off all experiments" - Her feet stick to it and a Castle-y kind of voice is heard… "Avow." (It's a recording, not the Castle itself.) - Shayd had turned off an experiment, and her feet become unstuck - Imelda scrambles up the ladder with Zephyr, then jumps onto the "Feed the beasties" and looks up and says "I played with the puppies and fed them food." - Other task ideas - Present yourself to the world » Gloat about a triumph - Kidnap the princess - Stab someone - Imelda asks Zephyr if she may call them "Princess Zephyr" » Zephyr turns bright pink, and their nametag changes to "Princess Zephyr" - Imelda then trips and lands on the "stab someone" step and gets stuck - Shayd says to Levana and says "You're so short, I could have used you as a step ladder." and gets up to taunt the prisoners - Levana jumps onto "Appease the Dark One", and then sings to the clown that has been following us - Andrew uses two fear and the Joker clown catches up to them - The stairs seems to be debating this, but decides through apathy to just let it work - Shayd jumps up to "Stab someone" as well - Imelda pokes Shayd really hard with a ballpoint pen and her feet get unstuck. The stairs seem frustrated with her, like she's just getting away with technicalities - Shayd calls out and says "I stabbed a fog monster" - Levana tries to jump up to "Gloat about a triumph" and jumps out of the reach of the clown clank - Gloats about not having had to do any dirty work - We make it to the top of the stairs - The Torture Room - We wind up in another situation with another chute that we have to jump into… - The room is as pink as Princess Zephyr - There is muzak being played - There's a "Now Serving" sign - But the paper ticket thing is empty - The chute we came to is the only entrance or exit to the room - Imelda uses her pen and clipboard to make three numbered pieces of paper 1. [[Imelda Blackfyre]] » if someone thought she wasn't nice, that would upset her 2. [[Shayd Nihlo]] » the thought of being stuck in here with the music drives her mad 3. [[Levana Leafwing]] » being stuck on her own - Imelda goes first, and a robot comes out and is crying, saying "Why were you mean to be?" - Imelda sees the robot crying, and starts to cry herself - As she gets worked up, crying, and the room starts heating up as she explodes in a fireball, incerating the robot except for the head (1 stress) - Shayd hears the equivalent of Oasis' Wonderwall as muzak - She curls up into the corner and just cries (1 stress) - Levana sees Imelda and Shayd just turn and ignore her - And then suddenly they're just gone - And then the music just disappears… and she's by herself - Imelda and Shayd just see her sitting there blankly - Eventually the room decides we have had enough - Imelda takes the head - Levana goes through a guided meditation (rousing speech) and we reduce one stress - Dials, Dials, Dials room - This is a live room, and the Castle says "reset all of the dials" - The doors slam shut, and spikes appear around the door - There are 10 significant dials: - Bomb Countdown Digital Readout - Clock - Cute Fuzzy Animal dial - Double Dial - Inscrutable Dial - Letter dial - No-labels dial - Number dial - Progress indicator - Triple Dial - Imelda points at the **Bomb Countdown Digital Readout** and says "we don't need to worry about this one, as it will always stop at one" and then skips onto the Cute Fuzzy Animal dial - Shayd resets the **Progress Indicator** - Levana resets the **No-Labels dial** - Imelda goes and winds the **Clock**, and the **Cute Fuzzy Animal dial** starts up again, so she skips over and resets it again - Shayd shouts at the **Inscrutable dial** after removing the indicator didn't do anything - She then tinkers with it and disassembles it - Levana works on the **Letter dial**, and then shoots it with the nail gun - Nicole rolls a 14 with fear - The Castle yells "Stop destroying my dials" and there is now a pit that formed in front of the dials - Imelda skips over to the Double Dial and does a landlord special by painting over the dial with the paints, then hits it with an illusion magic - The Castle absolutely doesn't buy it, and is unimpressed by Imelda's positivity bullshit - Shayd works on the **Triple Dial** and just points the dials to the top - Imelda asks Princess Zephyr if they're any good at dismantling bombs. They aren't. They are a vacuum cleaner. - Imelda decides to really politely ask the **Bomb Countdown Digital Readout** to stop, and I'm implossibly rolled a critical on disadvantage, and broke the whole puzzle - This caused the **Double Dial** to stop, but the **Triple Dial** to start again - Shayd decides to give the **Bomb Countdown Digital Readout** a light tap with a brick. (14 with fear) - Shayd succeeds in smashing the bomb dial - The Castle gets frustrated, and the moats get larger - Shayd goes over and fixes the **Inscrutable Dial** by reassembling it - Shayd resets the triple dial again - Imelda goes over and puts her lucky penny under the **Inscrubable Dial** indicator to wedge it into place - Nothing restarts - Only the Number Dial remains so Levana goes to reset it - The Progress Indicator starts up again - Shayd resets the Progress Indicator - The clock turns back on… - We reset basically everything, and then fix the things we broke - Levana pulls the nail out of the one dial - Shayd smashes the dial with a brick again to reset it - The Gate of Lamps - There's a devil dog patrolling the gate - Imelda has the head of the clank, and wants to play fetch with the devil dog - Levana pulls out a red cloth to get the attention of the dog towards Imelda - Shayd goes to pick the lock of the gate - It's the runt of the litter that Imelda had played with earlier - Imelda gets its attention and throws the head for it to play - Shayd gets the door open in time before the devil dog comes running back - It's the middle of the night, and we make it outside - The devil dog drops the ball on the inside of the castle - The clown wails from inside, at the loss of Levana
